Ginger Sedlarova
Ginger Sedlarova’s art-making is an exploration of ideas, shapes and texture. If her work has a mission, it is this: to capture everyday scenes and objects and imbue them with a new significance. Her approach to her work is in the details, merging her background as a graphic artist with her art and creating modern abstracts of everyday minutiae. She loves to play, to experiment, and has a particular fondness for her palette knife and working with the technique of fumage.
Sedlarova worked as a graphic artist for decades in both daily media in Vancouver and on newspapers and magazines in Central Europe. Prague, Czech Republic is her second home. When she’s not making art, Ginger likes to read, sing, make jewelry and immerse herself in her Beatlemania. Her practice is based in Burnaby, B.C., where she lives with her husband and two rescue cats.
