BIOGRAPHY
Ginger Sedlarova is a collage artist, storyteller, and accidental archivist from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She creates vibrant, emotionally charged paper-based landscapes of memory using imagery, texture and colour. After a 30-year career in daily newspapers and glossy magazines in Canada and Central Europe, she transitioned to a full-time art practice focused on complex visual narratives that examine memory, migration, and identity. Her work observes and celebrates people and the scars they leave on the world. She loves collage because “it brings a feeling of surprise, of the unexpected. By the time a new collage is created, there’s always something different about it than what I had set out to do.” Her work has been exhibited internationally and she continues to build an award-winning practice rooted in the words of one of her favourite artists, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner: “You can do anything. Nothing is forbidden.”
Ginger lives and work in Burnaby, B.C. with her husband and two rescue cats.
