Four canvases, four colours, four themes of despair. Our environment, both internal and external, has never been so dangerous, so precarious. Using paint, pen and smoke, I explored the consequences of agonies found around us, mentally and environmentally. Inspired by my uneasiness over what I read in the news on a daily basis and my concern for the future of our world, I worked with fumáge, ink and a palette knife to give a glimpse of the mess we’re now in. Assault depicts my fear of the many weapons we now have at our disposal. Agony interprets the overload of daily life and how it can literally affect us. Apocalypse, with its vomiting fish, shows what humans have done to the creatures we rely heavily on. Aquaphobia illustrates the dirty world we’ve produced for other living beings.
